Let’s talk about delay

There are a ton of delays out there! These two are my favorites so far.

The Giga Delay i chose because I could save 4 settings and have a open bank to just play with or leave a generic setting on. The sounds it brings is great too. I dig it a lot more than others like the Line 6 DL4.

The Electro Harmonix Memory Boy is the newest addition. I use this analog delay mainly for its trails. I love that you can set the repeats all the way up without it going crazy. Love using it with swells and such.

Would love to hear whats working for you and why. Let the conversation begin!

What Are You Not Sharing?

A guy named Tim Ross spoke at the Right Now Conference I went to not too long ago and spoke of the power of our testimony. Our REAL testimony. I was reminded of my life and of the things I have struggle with both past and present. The things God accepted me with even though in my mind they were inexcusable and unforgivable. Yet still, He chose to have mercy on me. What are we sharing? What are we shying away from?

It says in Revelation 12:11 “And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.” I don’t think it’s referring to just the easy part but the hardships and struggles we have gone through. To show that the devil dragged us through the dirt but still we rise in the light of our Savior. THEN we learn freedom.Freedom in showing our true self and release of our shame because in Christ we receive all love and acceptance we need. So share. And be free.

To serve the community you live in..

I had the honor of being the main character for The Spero Projects new commercial. Being a friend of both Brad and Kim I have seen this ministry start from the beginning to now and am in awe of what God is doing through their ministry and vision to serve the community. And not just any community but that of OKC where they live and breathe each day. This video below describes who and what they are. Take a watch and if you are an Oklahoman then I would for sure charge you to look more in to it or some organization here and serve in whatever capacity you can. If you want more info on The Spero Project check them out at here.

By grace

A few weeks ago I went to a men’s bible study and during worship we sang a song called “Your Love is Deep” by Jami Smith, a song I’ve heard a million times. But this time it was quite different. In the the chorus it says:

“Deeper than my view of grace,
Higher than this worldly place,
Longer than this road I travel,
Wider than the gap You filled”

I got stuck on the first line, “Deeper than my view of grace”. What is your view of grace? A lot of times our view of grace is equated with that of what our parents, friends, co-workers, neighbors or acquaintances may bestow on us. But when thinking of God, its like we need to spin around 5 times and rid ourselves of that view and start new with our eyes glued to Christ. There, the cross,  is where we see the greatest sacrifice and grace proven for all mankind. I love how in times you hear songs that talk about 2nd chances. I like to say “Thank you God for a 2nd…..12th……156th…..299th….and so on chance”. His grace is infinite! There isn’t one of us that is so far gone that his grace couldn’t cover or reach.

Psalm 103:12 says  that our sins have been removed from us “as far as the east is from the west”. So that makes me think it covers the spectrum.

You and I have covered by grace and love. In fact a love that is not like any other. Not that we would go on sinning on purpose but that in our mistakes we would find his grace in love close to us. Amen for that! May his grace be expanded to you today.

Don’t Be Stupid

Discipline defined is:

  • training to act in accordance with rules; drill: military discipline.
  • activity, exercise, or a regimen that develops or improves a skill; training: A daily stint at the typewriter is excellent discipline for a writer.
  • to train by instruction and exercise; drill.

When I was younger I always thought that reading the Bible was something that comes with ease after accepting Christ. I WAS WRONG! ha! It didn’t come easy and still to this day is not the easiest thing to pick up and read. But I do feel it’s INCREDIBLY important. SO, I decided to make myself sit down and just read a chapter a day of the Proverbs, which is a great place to be considering my situation. What I learned through that time was great and actually a verse that was found in Proverbs 12:1 (NIV) that says:

“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but he who hates correction is stupid.”

nailed me in the face! And also brought about a “want to” in my reading. I mean its plain and simple. Discipline is correction and if you don’t like correction you are straight up stupid. As harsh as that sounds its true. Correction is something I know I struggle with. I mean, who really likes for someone to come in and tell them that what you are doing isn’t correct? I DON’T! But if you are a believer then you know the Bible is the holy book given to us to sharpen us and teach us about our Creator and how to live. That in that one book we begin to have a more intimate relationship with our God. In knowing the greatness of  it,we must discipline ourselves in his word. May we not be “stupid” believers following things we think is of God’s character but truly seek Him and who He is through his Book of Knowledge and Life.

It’s powerful people. Discipline.
